Celebrating the Season of Giving with 5 Investor Giveback Initiatives

Not all construction companies are equal. Some companies are heavily invested in giving back to their employees, their community, or somewhere in between. At BYFAZ, we want to help you find the right fit for your interests and skills. In this season of giving, here are a few construction companies that are giving back to their communities in 2022.

Lennar

In 2022, Lennar helped to orchestrate a Diaper Drive which collected 28,000 diapers, 20,000 diaper wipes, onesies, and bibs for Child Crisis Arizona. Earlier in the year, they also hosted a Trunk or Treat event for kids and families who are a part of Child Crisis Arizona’s early childhood development program. At the Diaper Drive, a $25,000 check was personally donated from the Lennar Foundation.

Weitz

Knowing the holidays can be a stressful time for families and children, Weitz became a drop-off location for the annual ABA Toys For Tots which supports low-income, foster, special needs, orphaned, and homeless children. They also reach out to partners and their internal team to raise donations, collect gifts, and spread holiday cheer.

Canyon State Electric

Canyon State Electric collected Lego sets for the CSE Lego Drive throughout the month of November to benefit local children in the foster care system. The sets collected were donated to Arizona Helping Hands for their Holiday Toy Drive. This event is celebrated in honor of Steve Maderazzo, the late founder of CSE, who famously loved building with Legos.

Chas Roberts

In Arizona, having proper air conditioning systems is essential. In their annual Cool Play A/C Drive, Chas Roberts graciously donated four A/C units to deserving families and businesses. One of the winners was able to replace a 41-year-old A/C unit, while another winner found a replacement for their current A/C unit, which was labeled as a fire hazard after being incorrectly repaired.

K2 Electric

Twice a year, K2 Electric travels with the Arizona Builder’s Alliance to build homes for 1Mission families. This year, they went to Puerto Penasco to build a home that will provide shelter from the outdoor elements and offer better security for their large family. During this trip, they were also able to visit previous 1Mission families and discuss how K2 Electric can continue to help the community in upcoming years.

While these are just a few examples of Arizona companies that give back, we encourage you to consider more than just the size of the corporation when starting a career in construction. It’s important to find a company that aligns with your lifestyle, values, as well as your chosen line of work. If you are looking for a company that gives back to their community, we encourage you to consider the businesses above.

The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation‘s Construction Workforce Initiative, Build Your Future Arizona’s mission is to create a sustainable and skilled craft workforce by creating awareness about high-paying construction careers, training opportunities and mapping career paths to employment in these high-demand occupations.
